Eric Guido, Vinous 91 pt (over de 2019): The 2019 Catarratto Lucido lifts up floral and fresh, ripe nectarine giving way to hints of lemon confit and spring flowers. It’s silky with medium-bodied weight and a spicy display of citrus-tinged orchard fruits and salty minerals. There’s a richness here that intrigues the senses, exotic and distinctly savory, as it tapers off to notes of dried peaches, pears and a hint of almond. This is really unique and quite special, Lucido being a rare subvariety of Catarratto. The fruit is whole-cluster-pressed and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, where it refines for seven months on the lees.
